Lactated Food Checks All Wa3tlng Disor ders of Hot Weather. An infant should be abed and asleep, as tho fowls are, by sundown, at least. During the long night's sound slumber tho tiny limbs wax stronger and growth is by far the most active. A rich, substantial, but not burdensome diet, a sturdy digestion nnd quiet sleep complete tho cyclo of a day's healthy activity for a growing child. MAItY C. llKV.VOI.n.S. The prime factor in maintaining thissteady growth and in escaping debilitating summer diseaso to which children are- so apt, is lac tated food a food that does not disagree with the delicate stomach, that is eaten with zest and appetite, Hint is absolutely insured against contamination, and amply capable of furnishing strength and a solid increase, in llesh and blood. Lactated food is made with the express in tention of forming a perfect substitute for' healthy mother's milk. Its basis is sugar of milk; with it is combined tho nutritive parts of wheat, barely and oats, producing a pure food which meets every requirement of tho growing child. An infant likes it. Fretful, peevish babies grow strong, ruddy and healthy on it. It has the usual virtue of in ducing delicate babies to take an abundance of nourishment when other foods disagree witli them, and when retarded growth, feebleness and intestinal irritation threaten the poorly fed child. It is ignorance on tin- part of nurses and parents that is to blame for the summer dis orders, diarrhoea and cholera infantum. Children must eat well, digest well and ho protected from iinpuii.les in their food to grow rapidly, and to cv.ipo sickness. In the homes of the vast number of physicians and well informed parents, lactated food is the sole diet for the little ones not only in sum mer but all the year round. It is a perfect infant food, as testified by thousandsof happy mothers. It gives all tho rapidly growing tissues a chance to be fed and completely nourished. Mrs. K. E. Reynolds, of Fiir Haven, Vt., says : "Our little Mary K a perfect picture of health, having used lactated food since she was two months old. .-die has always been nerlectly well, and we think that this is largely duo to her uso of lactated food." A baby's whole duty is to keep strong and well. The parents' duty is to givo the in fant the best food in the world and that is lactated food. All druggists supply it. Too Much for Ills Nerves. Our devil puts in a little of his sparo time improving his mind by reading the exchanges with a chunk of pio in his left hand but his peculiar antics yesterday were so unusual that the editor-in-chief glanced up in surprise when he found him trying to stand on his head to read the Treinont News, which tho scissors editor had carelessly left within his reach. Ho bad to give it up, however, for no matter how he tackled it, that sheet was too much for him. It will tako a week to quiet tho young man's nerves. Mother "One nootl mother is worth a hundred schoolmasters." said Georiro Herbert. Men are what their mothers make them. But if the mothers are peevish nnd irritable, through Irregularities, "female weakness," antl kindred ailments, they find no pleasure, no beauty In the care of their balies. All effort is torture. Let all such, who feel weighed to tho earth with "weaknesses" peculiar to their sex, try Dr. Pierce's Favorite. Prescription. They will find the little ones a delight instead of a torment. To those about to become mothers it is a priceless boon. It lessens the pains and perils of childbirth, shortens labor antl promotes the secretion of anabundancoof nourishment for the child. Tnittlo Impaired. An accident occurring to one of the gen erators at tho power houso of the Schuylkill Traction Company yostorday necessitated the withdrawal of two cars on" the lino, which will somewhat impair .traffic. The damage, however, will be repaired in a day or two. When Baby was sick, we gave her Castorla, When she was a Child, she cried for Castorla.
