committee of the Garment Makers' union
held a meeting yestorday to discuss the
attitude of the Contractors' association,
as laid down by Soorotary Witkowskt,
Secretary "Wltkowskl admitted that they
had been worsted in the fight, and Bald
that the association would not prolong
the strike, but that the tailors must oome
to a settlement with the contractors as
Individuals. Should a single contractor
decllno to sign the Brotherhood of Tailors
will refuse to declare the strike off, but It
Is bellovcd that by tomorrow all the con
tractors will submit to the demands of
the brotherhood.

Sr., took place this morning from his late
residence on East Centre street and was at

mass was celebrated at the Annunciation

Frank Hess hud Martin Faliey before
Justice Dengler Saturday night on n charge

was put under $1,000 bail fov trial at court.
Tho assault is alleged to have followed a (lis-1
cussion of hone and foot races In Fancy's 1
saloon.

tion admonishing the local dealers to keep
their saloons closed yesterday and strictly

Thomas Clemmens and Joe Blakcr fought
on East Coal street for about five minutcs'on
Saturday afternoon and tho fight ended by
Blaker giving Clemmens a blow that ren
dered him unconscious for fully ten minutes.
