While they expected a cessation of work nt some of the smallest of tho plants yesterday, none even of th most sanguine lenders expected the larger plants to shut down and when tho news reached here that the men of Valley and Standard, the largest plants of the region, had all come out, there was general re joicing among tho strikers. These men refused to join the recent strike, but now they are the first to obey the order of the United Mine Workers' association for tho general strike.
