Mr. Bingham, whllo ono of tho most
intollieeut and versatile men, has boon
admired and talked of moro for his wonder
ful energy than any other tiait.
Ho is 70 years old. In a letter to Wells,
Richardson & Co., dated September 5, this
year, he writes that for ten years ho has been
using Paine's celery compound. To quote
his oxact words:
"I liavo used Paino's celory compound for
ten yoars or moro and it has had a very
favorablo ellect on me. I have suH'cred from
laasitudo caused by overwork, and it has had
a very strengthening effect on mo. I can
recommend tho virtues of Paiue's CQlcry
compound most heartily."
Tho pralso of Paino's celery compound
comes from all classes. Somo of tho best
known men and women in the country
have recently written their unsolicited
testimonials of its eminent valuo. Thousands
of "tho plain people," have testified to its
many wondorful cures. It is by far tho
greatest remedy of the age. It makes peoplo
well!
A l'recocluux Child.
Littlo Richard Rensou St. Maur, the little
boy who is in town with tho James Young
Company, is a precocious youngster. He has a
very intelligent and pretty face which beams
radiantly from a cluster of yellow curls and
his bearing is that of a littlo man. Although
but flvo years of age he mado his debut on
the stage last Thursday night, appearing at
Kaicr's opera, house as the Duke of York in
"Richard III." In ono one of the scenes tho
child Duke is torn from its mother's arms.
When little St. Maur was snatched during
one of his first rehearsals ho gave vent to a
genuine cry which brought roal tears to his
eyes, but at the Mahanoy Cily appearance he
prepared and did not give way to his emo
tions to such an extent. One of the com
pany jokingly asked him after tho scene why
the tears did not llow and the child vory
cutely answered, "Beoause if I cry too much I
won't get my salary." Little Richard will
appear as the Duke at Ferguson's theatre to
night when Mr. Young will appear as the big
and bold Richard III.
