tho late Associate Justico L. Q. C. Lamar
took place yesterday afternoon from the
resldeuoe of W. H. Virgin, of Vineville, a
suburb of this city. The body lay in
stnto iu the front parlor of Mr. Virgin's
residence, and hundreds of mourners
have visited the house for a glanco at the
face ot the dead jurist.
A prolusion of uor.il decorations were
massed about the catafalque, and tho re
malus were enclosed in a magnillcent
casket. Chief Justice Fuller and Associate
Justices Brewer, Shlras, and Gray wero
present.
The funeral cortege left the house for
the Mulberry Street Methodist church uu
der the escort of pallbearers, including
representatives of the Bui- of Macon, the
State uiUeorgi.i, ana the bupreme Court
Bench.
The services were simple. Tho inter
ment is temporary, und the body was
placed in a receiving vault nt Riverside
cemetery.

St. Mary's church nt Ilayonne, brings
against Bishop Wlgger, it is slated, the

Newark, aud declares that he has acted
entirely upon his own authority, without
the consent of the Council In Baltimore,
and contrary to its Instruction.
