velopments In regard to tbo murder of
Mrs. M. S. Story and tho sulcido of Chas.
II. lloulton show that lie bad persecuted
her for years, although she endeavored to
avoid him.
Jlr. Jlnulton's family are wealthy resi
dents of Portland, Me., his father having
lcu known as tho Duko of Portland.
Young Moulton came to California threo
years ago with $150,000, which ho soon
squandered.
Mrs. Story was tlie daughter of an
Episcopal minister of Windsor, Out. Sho
obtained a divorce some time ago and lias
since lived hero teaching music. Her
beauty and accomplishments won ber
many friends.

Jefferson burned the lower mill it six-set
satinet mill to the ground, with a loss of
$110,000.

was burned to the ground.
The total loss is $200,000; insurance,

Uniontowx, Pa., Dec. 8. Jack Kamscy,
one of the notorious Cooley gang, who is
under 19 indictments, for almost every
crimo on tho calendar, was found guilty
on the charges of burglarizing the resi
dences of Mm. Pierca keener and Joseph
Anderam on the night of March 11, 1880.

Trlckey, the dead Boston reporter, was

Mine Inspector McMurtrio is still a very
sick man. He was making good progress
towards recovery during the first part of the
week, but is now suffering from a relapse.
Mino Inspector Stein is attending to Mr.
McMurtrio's business and visits liiui fre
