'The Merry Cobbler."
Tranz Cumpson, in "Tho Merry Cobbler,"
occupied tho boards at Ferguson's tbeatro last
night. Mr. Cumpson is young in tho busi
ness, but displays great versatility and is
boyond doubt ono of tho sweetest singers
heard hero for somo time. Tho character
songs and recitations by Harry McDonald, as
Zaek Johnion, were very good. The twin
sisters, Blanche and Athael, wero good
dancers and found favor with tho audience.
I.lttle Daniel Webster was very cuto and
executed a sailor's hornpipe in lino style, for
which ho was roundly applauded. Tho plot
of tho play is very obscure, but on tho wholo
it is clean and wholesome and tho most
fastidious can attend it without fear of being
shock ed.
In Olileu Times
People overlooked tho importance of per
manent beneficial effects and were satisfied
with transient action, but now that it is gen
erally known that Syrup of Figs will per

informed peoplo will not buy other laxatives,
which act for a time, but finally injure tho
system.
