Sentence.
Harry T. Hall, tho man who attempted
to dostroy his photograph gallery in town
by arson, has escaped the conscquencos of
kis crime with a remarkably light ssntonce.
Hall was palled up for sentonco yosterday.
He was fined $50 and eontonced to nineteen
onths imprisonment from the time of his
commitment, which will leave the actual
cenlonco of imprisonment at fifteen
onths.
On motion of J. It. Ooylo, Esq , tbo
court yesterday appointed J. Oliver Koadt,
Hubert A. Quinn and H. J. Hendler
viowers for tho purpose of assessing dam
ages for tho lot stakod out on tho Gather
proporty on West Oak street for school
purposes.
ThomaB McHalo, of town, who is charged
ith assault and battery, was to have beon
tried at this term of court, but the caso has
beon crowded out and will not come up
until tho November term. McHalo has
retained M. M. Burke, E.q., to defend him
and Mr. Burko will beassistod by John,A.
Nash, Esq., as counsel. McHalo is charged
with stabbing Richard Oaughan in a. gen
oral fight that took place on North Jardin
street on August 13th, last.
An attempt was made to bring the report
on the division of tho wards of town before
tho court yesterday, but tho matter was
laid over until the November torm,

and spirits and returned well and hearty,
having gained about eight pounds.
