Foster died at his homo in Pottsville yostorday in his C9ih year. The deceased was one of tho oldest and bet known residdnts of this county. II 0 was a native of Portsmouth, Now Uampshlro, but had been a resident of Pottsvillo since boyhood, bis parents having located at that place then. Mr. Foster conducted a shoe store In this town about sixteen yoirs ago. Ho then went to Ashland and later returned to Pottsvillo. A widow and six children survive the deceased. T. J, Fos ter, formerly of town, but now of Scran ton, is one of his nephews. Kufus J, Foster, also uow of Scranton, is ono of his sons. Silver Wedding. Rev. H. G. James and Wife Cele brate Their Anniversary. Rev. H. G. James, pastor ol tho English Baptist church, and wife, celebrated tho 25th anniversary of their marriage last ovening, at their residence on "West Coal street. About sixty members of the con gregation wero present and gave tho clergyman and bis wife a handsome silver tea service. Toe presentation was made by Thomas Hough and Rev. James ac cepted the gift gracefully, after which a bounteous supper, prepared in excellent style by Mrs. James, was served. Singing of "Praiso God From "Whom All Blessings Flow" and prayer by Doacon Pillinger fol lowed. Most of the congregation will ba poets now, as they sat in Rev. James' bardic chair.
