Although tho recess closed at 2 o'clock
nothing took place until 2.85, when Mr.
Kerr, the newly elected Clerk of tho

ness, and that it had appointed it com
mittee of three (Mossrs. Illouut, Breck

till 11 o'clock to give an opportunity to

reading of the steuographlo minutes

mony given by Inspector Cogm, of Ilos-
ton, who found blood stains on the
buggy seat; Professor Woo l, who ex
amined tho stains, and Dr. Ham, who
examined Hiram a wounds. Several
witnesses were called, who gave evi
dence an to the locality In which they
heard shots on the day of tho murder,
after which tho State rested.

Mrs. Hiram Sawtelle, who nrrlvod
last night, says her husband did not
have artificial tooth, but that, on the
contrary, his teeth were all right. As
Dr. Grant in his tostliuony said when ho
examined tho skull last Saturday there
was no indication ot toatu In the upper
jaw, the question has been raised
whether or no', tho skull was really

Club, was tried yesterday beforo tho
Camden Criminal Court on the charge
of keeping a disorderly house in main
taining n race track. Tha trial occu

not concluded on the adjournment.
Witnesses for the prosecution testified
to having seen liquor sold, gambling
and pool selling carried on, and many
disorderly scenes. Tho dofense produced
a number of witnosses who testified to
laving visited the track nnd not seeing
any more disorder than would be war
runted by tho large crowds,
