SOUGHT DEATH FOUR TIMES. Tloln flreyloeU'n Identity Itevonlciil A niutilti fur Suicide. Philadelphia, Nov. 18. MIhs Viols firoylock, who attempted snleido by taking it doso of lnutlitniini In New York on Monday, nntl was kept on a trump for forty-olKht houra to ward oil dentil nt ISollevuo Hospital, Is nono other than Miss Annlo Miller, alias Clara lireylock, who was taken to tho German Hospital on Sept. 17, suffering from a like causa. On that occasion she gave the nnmo ol Greylock, although suhsequently nil mltting that the name was assumed. She maintained a rigid silence when questioned ns to her antecedents, just bb sho has dono In Now York, and It was only by the most searching inquiry that her true identity camo to light. Hoc mind Is undoubtedly unbalanced. Beyond a doubt Vloln Greylock Is really Miss Anna Miller of I lobar t, Drango County, J N. Y. If she Is Miss Millur, as her friends in Philadelphia havo every reason to believe, this makes LuT fourth attempt nt suicide. Twice has she attempted to take her life in Philadelphia, and inonch case laudunum has beon her choice. Her last attempt was In tho early part ot September, whon she was taken to tuo Uermnn Uos pltil, and there cave the name of Grey lock. Sho was born In Now York. Hor fnther died when qulto young, and her mother, being in reduced circumstances. placed her In an aBylum nt Coonorstown, N. Y., and nothing has over been heard ot her since. It is not known whether alio is living or dead. When about 10 years old Anna was adopted by a fanner named Taylor, liv ing at Hobart, N. Y. It was while liv ing with the Taylors that sho first at tempted to take her life. Sho was then conllned In nu asylum for n time, but appearing to bo perfectly rational sho was discharged. She has always beon nn exceedingly sensitive girl, and, not liking tho idea of being dependent on others, sho de termined to earn hor own living. JJCon Boquontly sho camo to Philadelphia, at tempted fltiicido again, and was sont back to her homo at Hobart. Hero sho remuined for some time, hut returned to 1'hihulclphln, and sowed for Miss Itoss, a dressmaker at No. 720 North Twentieth street. She made hor third nttompt nt suicide on tho 17th of Soptomber last, and It was then that alio gave the name of Greylock. Dr. Andrews examined hor nt the German Hospital, and pronounced her insane. While negotiations were being made to have her placed in Kirk bride's Asylum Miss Hn-ts vlsitoi! tho Hospital and took hor away. Sho was afterward placed in the Presbyterian Hospital, where, bating a young lady of refinement, she became quite popular with the young ilctir-i. She m ttlu her escape from thorn about a month ago, and dUappeurdd entirely. Coming: Events. Nov. 18 Grand supperln ItohbW oponi nouso for tho be lie lit of tho Trinity llo formod church.
