An Ugly Rumor.
Considerable uneasiness wa( causod in
town yoslordny Rflernaon by a report that
oiirht miners had been "clnsod in" in the
Kohinoor colliery. Tho report wns first
circulated In PotUvillo, St. Nicholas and
other place and did not go tho rounds hero
until towards evening. Of course there
was not tho slightest foundation for the
rumor. One woman, wnoso nutoano
works in tho colliery, becamo prostrated
when sho heard tho report. It Is quite
liko'y that some thick head connected the
Kohinoor colliery with the Nanticiko dis
aster.
