tho danger, and had sufficient presence
of mind to shout, "Hoy, you, go back!'
But tho boy did not hear him, appar
ently, for ho kept right ou and by tho
carman, leaving that unfortunate man
to follow on his head. Tho cries and
crash brought tho rest of tho family to
tho rescue, aud tho disconsolate was sat
urated with tears and aniica, contrary
to tho advico of tho carman, who sug
gested that he be driven into tho earth
with a mallet.
