tor Wood, a young wood-choppor. was
lynched here In 1839 for tho supposed
murder of "Handsome Smuggler," a
huutor and trappor. The lattor, who Is
over 90 years old, has just reappeared.
Ho was greatly ovorcomo when he heard
of Wood's fato. Tho sweetheart of
Wood wont mad when he was lynched
and his father starved to death.
