As tho H Kit ald goes to press all traffic
on the Ashland branch ot tho Lohigh Val
ley rnilroad ! suspended, a wreck having
occurred at No, 4, by cars of a loaded coal
train jumping the track. No person was
njured. A wrecking crow from Delano
engaged iu clearing Iho tracks of coal
and dobris.
"Jack" Tlnley In tho Hospital.
In tho days of the old Central Pennsyl
vania league, when Ashland, Shamokin,
Mt. Carmel, Mahanny City and Shenan
doah were in it as far as ball players were
concerned, no man was better known
among the lovers of this spirt than was
John Tinloy, of Ashland. Ho was a warm
friend of Stevilts of tho St. Louis team,
who at that lime twirled bail for Ashland.
Tinley caught him und his playing won
for him many admirers. "When tho b atue
became a thing of the pal Tinley decided
to give up ball playing and return to bis
occupation, which was that of n mih.-r.
About n year ago lie went to Shamokin and
secured a position at the Cameron colliery.
