Miss Agusta Wilhelmi, eldest daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Wilhelm,
recently won first prize for best indi-
vidual flower at a flower show recently
held under the auspices of the Pensa-
cola School Improvement Association.
In writing to THE STAR of Augusta’s
success, of which her many* Salisbury
friends will all be glad to learn, her
father says: “This is called the Land
of Flowers, but it took a Salisbury girl
to grow the prize winner.”
Mr. Wilhelmi also encloses several
newspaper clippings, one of which
for heavy building material is receiv-
ing increased favor among engineers,
while in the country regions large
amounts of cement are being used for
building blocks for smaller structures.
Reports received by the Survey during
the six years from 1902 to 1907 show
that the production of cement in the
United States has increased from 25;
600.000 barrels, valued at approximately
$25,000,000. to 51.000,000 barrels, valued
at $55,000,000, the annual statistics
showing a steady increase in produe-
tion with some slight fluctuations iE
