A news dispatch from the State En- campment at Gettysburg bas the fol- lowing to say concerning the Tenth regiment of the Pennsylvania National Guard: “The Tenth regiment came in for a particular share of the credit. The regiment made decidedly the best showing of any outfit at camp. The band of that regiment has received the most favorable comment of any musical organization at the big camp. Their concerts have been attended by hun- dreds of men from the other regi- ments.” It’s no wonder the Tenth Regiment Band is making such a big hit, for be- hold Salisbury’s own Sam Livengood has been hired to play with that or- ganization during the encampment. Salisbury has other good band men, too, and our old Salisbury Band can just play the socks off of any other band in Somerset county. Colored Camp-Meeting. On Sunday, Aug. 2nd, a camp-meeting will be started in the Beachy grove, at the South end of Grant street. The back of the project, and a number of visiting clergymen will assist him: The meeting will open at 11 o’clock a. m., and one of the great attractions will be fine singing by the Old-Time Jubilee Songsters, of Pittsburg, an organization that has sung in many of the operas and churches throughout the state. They will be worth hearing. JUST EXACTLY RIGHT. “I have used Dr. King’s New Life Pills for several years, and find them | just exactly right,” says Mr. A, A, Fel- | ton, of Harrisville, N. Y.
