Quay, Penrose and the Ticket.
Senators Quay and Penrose have an
earnest sympathy for the men of the
anthracite region. It was this fact,
coupled with the receipt of nearly two
thousand letter by the United States
senators, that led them to visit Presi-
dent Baer, of the Reading Railroad, in
the hope of bringing the trouble to a
speedy termination. Thus far all ef-
forts have failed. Governor Stone took
up the matter, but he, too, has failed
to bring about any change in existing
