The H. C. Frick Coke Company has
jssued orders for the firing of 1500
additional coke ovens in the Connells-
ville and Lower. Connellsville regions.
The ovens will be fired Monday and
Tuesday giving employment to 1,000
men. Altogether 2,500 new ovens have
been fired by the Frick Company last
week bringing its operations to about
& per cent of capacity. The plants will
operate five and six days a week in-
stead of four and five days as they had

lier part of the winter.
Wilfred H. Schoff, secretary of the
Commercial Museum, Philadelphia,
has announced that Greece is in the
American market for more than
$2,000,000 worth of made-in-America
commodities for immediate delivery,
including 100,000 rifles, 100tons of
barbed wire for military purposes
and large supplies of lumber.The in-
quiry for these materials pointed
out that “the present European cri-
sis makes the demand for these sup-
plies imperative.” The inquiry which
also includes foodstuffs, army shoes
and 1,000 tons of white vaseline for
oiling guns.

wood High school is making prepa-

until after the evangelistic campaign.
