OBITUARY.
Died, at her home in Clarence, of Consumption,
Miss ABI E. SPACLDIHG, aged 17 years.
There is an unusual interest attached to the death
of a person just entering upon the morning of life,
.and especially so was it iu this case. With less
1 tfcan two yexrs residence with her p.irents in their
"Waetern home she has secured numerous friends and
'"acquaintances who hare known her but to respect
i and lore aod i> mpathize with her in her patient res
igaetion under her long continued suffering and tri
als. To her parents and relatives her death was a
sad bereavement, but we trust will be for her gain.
A voice we loved is stilled ;
A gentle hert, that throbbed but now
With tbiidirness and lore,
Has hushed its weary tbrobbings hero
"Jo throb in lite above.
Yes, to the home where angels are
Her trustbig soul has fled;
And yet we bend above her tomb
* With.tears, and call her dead.
We call her dead, but ah ! w trust
She dwells where living waters flow.

REASONS WHY Tlig
AMERICAN WATCH
Made at \\ ALII I AM, MASS., is the* best.
It is made on the best principle. Its frame is
composed of SOLID I'LATES. NO jar '-an inter

is ma le and finished by machinery, (itseif famous
for its novelty, as well as for its effectivenes) and is
therefore i roj erly made. The watch is what all
me nanism should le—AtCIRATE, SIMPLE.
STRONG AND ECONOMICAL, Except some
high grades, to costly for general use, foreign
watches are chiefly made by women and brys Such
watches are composed of several huuire pieces,
screwed aud rivited together, and require constant
repairs to keep thtm iu any kind of order. All per
sons who have carried "ancres" 'depine*" and
"Euglieh Patent Levers," are perfectly well aware
of the truth of this s ateinent.
At (be beg nning of our enterprise more than ten
years :i go, t was cur first object to make a tberough
ly good low priced watch for the million, to take
the place ot there tore impositions ; the refuse of
foreign factories, which were entirely unsaleable at
home and perfectly worthless everywhere.
How #ell wc hivj accomplished this, may be
unierstand from the fict that after many years of
public trial, we now make MORE THAN HALF

such universal satisfaction Wb:lethis department

imported chronometers. We do not pretend to sell
our wtches for lees mou * han foreign watches,

for the same money our product is incompi rably
