s a constitutional disease, a corruption of the
flood, by xTiieh this fluid becomes vitiated,

caii -. d by mercurial disease, low living, dia>
ordered or unhealthy food, impure air, filth
and filthy habits, the depressing vices, audi
above all, by the venereal infection. Whate
ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the COB*
stitution, descending " fropa parents to children
unto the third and fourth generation;" indeed,
it seems to lie the rod of Ilim who says, I
will visit the iniquities of the fathers upen
their children."
Its eifacts commence by deposition from the
blood of < irrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in
the lung-, liver, end internal organs, is termed
tubercles; in the glands, swellings; and om
the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul eor
rup 'oa, which g>. iidcrs in the blood, depresses
the tvsrgies of Hie, so that scrofulous constitu

To cl n-e it from the system we must renovate
