Weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the whole body, and may bunt t tn disease on any part of it. No organ ie frea from its attacks, nor is there one which it nhy not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low living, die. ordered or unhealthy food, impure air, filth and filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, abovUhll, by the venereal infection. What ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the con stitution, descending " from parents to children unto the tliird and fourth generation ;" indeed, it seems to be the rod of Him who says, " I will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." Its effects cpmmence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lung-, liver, and internal organs, ia terra*4 tubercles; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul aor ruption, which genders in the blood, dep reseat the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitu tions not only suffer from scrofulous com plaints, hut tliev have far less power to with-' stand the attacks of other diseases; conse quently va-t numbers peri-h by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, arc still rendered fata! by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which de cimates the human family has its origin directly in this scrofulous contamination; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, braia, ami, indeed, of all the organs, arise from • are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people are scrofulous; their persons arc invaded by this lurking in fection, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system we must renovate the blood by an alterative medicine, and in vigorate it by healthy food and exereiaa. Such a medicine we supply in AVER'S Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla. the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this every where prevailing and fatal maladv. It is com bined from the most active remedial# that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foal disorder from the blood, and the rescue of tke system from its destructive consequences, llcnce it should be employed for the cur# ef not only Scrofula, lmt also those other sffse tions which arise from it, such as BRUPTIYB and SKIN DISRAKI:*, ST. ANTHONY'S Tina, HOSK. or EHTRIPF.I.A", PIMM, FA, PUSTULM, BI.OTCHF.S. BRAINS and Butt.*, TUMORS, TFTTRB and SALT RHF.UK. SCATJI IIKAD, KINOWOKK, ItIIKCMATI.SM, Svriiit.iTic and MKKCUIUAI. Dts- KASFS, DROPSY, DYSPEPSIA, and, indeed, AM. COMPLAINTS ARISING FROM \ ITIA TEIJ OR IMPURE Bi.ooo. Hie popular belitf in " impurity of the blood" is founded in truth, for scrofula is a degeneration of the blood. The particular purpose and virtue of this Sarsapa rilla is to purify and regenerate this vital fluid, without which sound licalth is impossible in contaminated constitutions. AYER'S Ague Cure, FOR TOE SPEEDY CURE Of Internilltro! Fever, or Fever and Ago#, Remittent Fever, Chill Fever, Dumb Ague, Perloiil.nl Heartache, or Billoa# Headache, and Bilious Fevers, Indeed for the whole t ins* of uiseasss originat ing in biliary derangement, caused by the Malaria of Miamatlc Countries. We arc enabled here to offer the community a remedy which, while it cures the above complaints with certainty, is still perfectly harmless in any quantity. Such a remedy is invaluable in di-triets where these atllicting disorders prevail. This "CURB" expels the miasmatic poison of FBYIK AS n AOUF. from the system, and prevents the de velopment of the disease, if taken on the first ap proach of its premonitory symptoms. It is not only the best remedy ever yet "discovertd for this class of complaints, out also the cheapest. The large quantity we supply for a dollar brings it within the reach of every body ; and in bilious districts, where FEVER ANI> AC.UK prevails, every todv should have it and use it freely both for cure sua protec tion. A great superiority of this remedy over any other ever discovered for ths speedy and certain cure of Intermittent* is that It contains no Quinine or mineral, consequently it produces 110 quinism ar other injurious effects whatever upon the oonetitn- Uon. Those cured by it are left as healthy as if thev bad never had the disease. Fever and Ague is not alone the consequence nf the miasmatic poison. A great variety of disss • ch-rs arise from its irritation, among which are Seuralqi'i, Rheumatism, Gout, Headache, Hlsnd tuss toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma, Pal citation. Painful Affection of the Spleen, Ihjsteer fs, Pain in the BmccU, ( ohc, Paralysis and De rangement of the Stomach, ail of which, when originating in this cause, put on the intermittent tape, or become periodical. I his " CURE " expel* the poison from the blood, and consequently cure# them all alike. It is an invaluable protection to immigrants and persons travelling or temporarily residing in the malarious district*. If taken occa sionally or daily while exposed to the infeetiaa, that will be excreted from the system, and cannot accumulate in sufficient quantity to ripen into di sasc. Ilence it i even more valuable for promo tion than core, and few will ever suffer from Inter mittents if thev avail themselves of the proteetien this* remedy affords. Prepared by Br. J. C.
