Hotel Burned—The Hotel,at Montrose known
for some gear's past, as Hatch's Hotel, was destroy
by fire on ff of last week.'. ' We pre

Miss E. Vose who has been very successfully
• engaged in leaching a select school, at this place,
during the past few months, will open her apring
Term, on Monday, the 26th inst Those desiiing to
attend or send pupils should rnuka their arrange

Improvements on a rather extensive scale,, in
the way of grading streets and laying down side
walks are contemplated Uy our Borough,authorities,
as soon as Spring opens. The owners of lots along
all our principal streets will be required io grade
and lay d wn walks of plank or flogging in front of
their premises If not done by such owners of lots
it will be done by the street commissi mer, and 20
per oent ad'ed to the cos' thereof, whieh expense is,
by law, male a lien upon tho property. Let every
lot owner look out in time tor liis plank or flagging.

surface indications or geological conformation ; and
