Subscribers will receive either Registered or Cou- j
jon Bon Is, as they may prefer. Registered Bonds j
i are recorded on the books of the I . S. Treasurer,
; and can be transferred only on the owner's order, — j
• j Coupon Bonds are payable to bearer, and are more
convenient for commercial uses.
.Subscribers to thivloan will have the option of
i hiving their Bonds draw from MarCh Ist. by j
j j paying the accrued interest in coin—(or in United j
v ! States or the notes of National Banks, adding fifty .
I | petcentj front premium,) or receive them drawing
} I interest from the di to of subscription and deposet— !

0 I It is believed that no securities offer so great in- ,

! faith or ability of private parties or stock compa- j
j nies or separate communities only is pledge i tor.

5 I SSO up to an}' magnitude, on the same terms, and j
j I arc thus made equally available to the smallest len- j
1 ! der and the largest capitalist They can be convert- j
"" ! od into money at any moment, and tho holder will '
~ have the bene-t of the interest.
1 It may be useful to state in this connection that
, the total Funded Debt of the United States on
which interest is payable in gold, on the 3d day of
_ March, 1864. was 8768, 963, 000. Tho interest on
this debt tor tho coming fiscal year will be $ 15,927,
1'26. while the customs revenue in gold for the eur-
| rent fiscal year, ending June 30th, 1854, has been j
so far at the r.l'o of over 5100.000.000 per annum
It will be seen that even the present gold reve
nue of the Government are largely in excess of the
9
as wants of the Treasury for the payment of gold in
terest, while the recent increase of the tariff will
doubtless raise the annual receipts from customs on !
the same amount of impartations, to $l5O 00!,',000 j
per annum.
