r~BT* . dthc vital forces in their
■ vigorous action, and
leaves the system to
t! -Yp 101 l into disorder and
. J decay. The scrofulous
contamination is variously caused bv mereuriul
disease, low lining, tlisordcix'd digestion from
unhealtliv food, impui-c air, filth and filthy
hahits, tltc depressing vi"es, and, above all, by
the venereal infection. Whatever be its origin,
it is hereditary in the constitution, descending
" from parents to children unto the third and
fourth generation ; " indeed, it seems to he t'no
rod of Him who savs, " I will visit the iniqui
ties of the fathers upon their children." Tho
diseases which it originates take various names,
according to the organs it attacks. In tho
lungs, Scrofula produces tubercles, and finally
Consumption ; in the glands, swellings which
suppurate am! become ulcerous sores; in the
stomach and bowels, derangements which pro
duce indigestion, dyspepsia, and liver com
plaints; on the skin, eruptive and cutaneous
affections. These all having the same origin,
require the same remedy, viz. purification and
invigoration of the blood. Purify the blood,
and these dangerous distempers* leave you.
With feeble, foul, or corrupted blood, vou can
not have health ; with that " life of the tlesli"
healthy, you cannot have scrofulous disease.
Ayor's Sarsaparilla
is compounded from the most effectual anti
dotes that medical science has discovered for
this afflicting distemper, and for the cure of tho
disorders it entails. 'That it is far superior to
any other remedy xv* devised, is known by all
who have given it a iri.il. That it does com
bine virtues truly extraordinary in their effect
upon this class of complaints, is indisputah.y
proven bv the great multitude of publicly
ktioxvn and remarkable cures it has made of
the following diseases : King's Lvil Or
Glandular Swelling?, Tumor?, Erup
tions, Pimples, Blotches and Sores, Ery
sipelas. liose or St. Anthony's Fire. Salt
Eheum, Scald Head, Coughs from tu
berculous depo/its in the lungs, Y/hito
Swellings, Lebilitv, Dropsy, IVeuralgia,
Dyspepsia or Indigestion, Syphilis and
Syphilitic Infections, Mercurial Diseases,
Female Weaknesses, and. indeed, the whoio
series of complaints that arise from impurity
of the blood. Minute reports of individual
oa-es may be found in AYKR'S AMERICAN
ALMANAC, which is furnished to the druggists
for gratuitous distribution, wherein may be
leant' d the directions for its use, and some of
the remarkable cures whi- h it has made when
all other remedies had failed to afford relief.
Those easts are purposely taken from all sec
tions of the country, in onlcr that every reader
may have access to some one who can speak to
him of its benefits from pusonal experience.
Scrofula depre-scs the vital energies, and thus
leaves its victims far more subject to disease
and its fV.tal results than arc healthy constitu
tions. Hence it tends to shorten, and does
greatly shorten, the average duration of human
life. The vast import: ice of these considera
tions has led us to spend years in perfecting a
remedy which i- adequate to its cure. This
we now otter to the public under the name of
AYEK'S SARSAI'AUILI.A, although it is com
posed of ingredients, some of which exceed the
liest of Sirs ifMiiiiln in alterative power. By
its aid vou may p-otcct yourself from the suffer
ing and danger of these disorders. I'iirgc out
tiie foul corruptions that rot and fester in the
blood; puro-e out the causes of disc 'so, and
vigorous health will follow. By its peculiar
virtues this remedy stimulates the vital tunc-
tior.s, awl thus expels the distemper* which
lurk v.I thin the system or hurst out of! any
part of it.
We know the public i;ave Wen derived by

MI MUST I U
He has purchased a splendid assortment of Cases,
ftmoug which are the Union, Band Clasp, Octagon,
Oval Gilt Frames, Gilt Trays, 4-c., —very neat and
desirable patterns—besides a variety of plain and
fancy Cases, of every size and description.
The foregoing, he thinks, are inducements sufficient
for every one to come to the Picture Gallery and
secure one of those " faithful sk&dOlts"—
" Which light an i art, with magic rpell.
By working together, can caicu so well!"
If not. there are other considerations. llow impor
tant that you secure a faithful likeness of your friend#
and relatives eve it is too late. You have all experi
enced something of the satisfaction afforded in gazing
on the Picttfre of an absent friend ; and some of you
h ivc known the sad pleasure derived fiotn imsscssing
the likeness of some loved one who ha - been laid be
neath the church*yard mound, and felt that
" No price could take from you
A memento so cherished ;
For, how sacred the shadow,
Since the substaabe has perished.'
But you perchance have friends st II with yon
whose pictures you have not yet secured. If so niuka
it the business of to-day, to-iuorrow may be too late.
Then eoine to the Picture Gallery in Samuel Stai ,'s
BricK Block—third story—a few doors east of Wa l'i
Hotel, and secure one of those •' faithful shadows "
