Should a sunicicnt number of i;iseiigers desire to travel under the care of 11 Tourist tender's position and Inflicted a com plcte defeat 011 his following, at tha same time capturing liu Hamnra. Another runner, who has reached here from Fez, confirms the news of the defeat of the rebels, but says that the report of the capture of the pre tender Is Incorrect, lie adds that it la uncertain whether Itu Ilamara's body was among the great number slain. The sultan's victory was absolute, al most the entire following of the pre tender being cither slain or captured. His camp, provisions an 1 ammunition were taken and the artillery which was lost by the sultan's army in the battle of December 23 was recaptured. Even If Bu Hamara escaped it is hopeless for him to seek to retrieve his defeat, as his claim that he Is a saint is exploded. The details regard ing the battle ore meager, but it is known that tlie pretender's camp wa surprised and rushed at dawn. ' There arc great rejoicings here at the sultan's victory.
