past 12 years in Nebraska and Colo
rado, returned to his old home in Mid
dleburg. He has been engaged with
an Orchestra both in Colorado Springs

the Editor met Mr. Gift in Colorado
Springs and while the Editor was en
joying the novelty of the beautiful
mountain scenery the majesty of Pikes
Peak and the Gardeti of the God's.
Mr. Gift said: "Talk about your Colo
rado scenery, as for me, I would rath

Every Grand Army Post In the

Snyder County. Mrs. Smith is the
mother of retiring County Treasurer,
Benneville Smith and is 83 years of
age.
The other great-grand mother is
Mrs. Christine Swartz, daughter of
Frederick Bingatnan and widow of
Elias R. Swartz, at one time a Com
missioner of Snyder County. She is
the mother of J. Wilson Swartz, a
Swineford Merchant, whf served two
terms as Commissioners' Clerk of Sny
der County and was Postmaster of
Middleburg under Harrison's admin
