The Lutheran Congregations of the
Bloumtield charge, embracing the
churches al Bloomfleld, Mansville, and
Markleburg, have extended a call lo

When the report was made at the
Charobarsburg lonferencc for the re-ap

Bitten nine weeks ago by a Iliad dog,
George Hoover, a ten-year-old son of
('has. Hoover, ofShamokin, was seized
with hydrophobia last Friday and died
in great agony Saturday night. He
frothed at the mouth, barked likeadog,

thing that came in his reach.

of which was a sister to George, two
years younger.
The Buffering of the boy, a few hours

morning, spent Easter Day in -ilent
contemplation of his awful crime. The
prisoner was found in an old work-hop
near his home, by Butler Surgeon, his
father's farm hand.

Mr. Lcby had always been an ac
tive hard-working man andwas a good
citizen. His untimely death is deeply
lamented. His sorrowing widow and
children have the sympathy of the

band and father under such peculiar
sad circumstances. He was 44 years old.
The deceased is survived by a wife
and two children, also by two sisters,
Mrs. Noah Herman and Mrs. John
Steese, and two brothers David and
Jacob, who live in North Dakota.
The funeral service was held Satur
day, at 10 a m., in the Reformed
church.

The prisoner was pale and careworn,
but seemed to breathe cosier after being
