of thceountry. lie demonstrated him
self not only master of the subject mat
ter of his treatise, but of the language
as well. His command of words is ex
tensive and his diction is beyond a

leather covered rocking chair which
was thrown from a window of the Tuil
Ierles when Louis XVI was guillotined,
brought from there by Capt Gallager
and presented to Miss Snyder's and
Mrs. Van Dyke's grandmother, and In
case of her death the chair and the mar
ble bust of Minerva, are to go to Mrs.
