There is an old and too prevalent no
tion, says Youth's Companion, that
affairs of private person
that one should, if possible, evade or
mislead the census enumerator. In
fact, the statements made are eonfl-
wlnten are not too cold, nnd where i dential, and the enumerator is sub-

with adjacent yards outside. In such
a case it is often inconvenient to get
into the yards unless one can go out
into them from the pens. With this
method of swinging the sashes the
necessity for having a door in each
pen, us well as u window, is done away
with. In cold climates such a plan
can be used for spring, fall and sum
mer, closing the windows in the win
ter nnd putting on outside sashes.
