Release of a Pastor.
The Northumberland Presbytery
at its recent meeting at Bloonisburg
on the lUth, dissolved the pastoral
elation whicfl for eight years and
three months has existed between
Rev. E. A. Snook and the churches
of Buffalo and New Berlin.
The retiring pa-tor said to the
Presbyterv in part : "The serious
loss ot members by death in the
Buffalo church has brought forward
the question of union orconsoudation
of that portion of the Buffalo congr-
gation worshipping at Mifflinourg
with the First Presbyterian church.
"This has started a movement in
recent months, w hich has been more
or less disturbing and which will
probably not find a solution until the
Presbytery determines what ought
to be done in this respect tor these
fcurn mnfrremtions. and in oruer to
" n o
open the way, so that the Presbytery
may feel entirely free to deal with
this question, I offer my resignation
and here present the Same with the
request that the Presbytery dissolves
the pastoral relation."
After hearing the commissioners
from the two congregations of the
Presbytery granted the release.
