Mrs. AnnaRemmel of Port Royal

Reinmel, a soldier in the late war,

Friday morning Clarence Martin,
son of Wm. Martin, was killed near
New Berlin while attempting to
control a runaway team. He be
came fastened to the traces and was
dragged violently over the ground
for quarter of a mile. He was
picked up lifeless.

esting and entertaining visitor at
Hon.'G. Alfred Schoch's. He is a
bright little boy, well versed in the
manual of arms and has at las com'

information. He is the son of
distinguished ancestry, his father
being the noted musical instructor
who lias pupils high in the profession
in Europe and America. His
mother is the widow of general Gage
and also a popular musical teacher.

Elizabeth Hoover Dead.
Elizalx-th Hoover, relict of An
drew Hoover, died at Port Trever-
ton May 12, aged 78 years, having
been born iri 1820. Her husband
died alxmt 20 or 25 years ago. She
was buried on Sunday. Her four
sons, James, Henry, John and Wil
liam acted as pall bearers. She had
one daughter who is Sarah, wife of
John Neitz. James, one of the sons
above mentioned, had an arm shot
off at Poplar Grove church. Her
maiden name was Hummel. She
leaves alsoa sister, Mrs. Shelly aged
81 years, who is-the mother of Jesse
Shelly of this place. Funeral ser
vices were conducted by Rev.- Wm.
