None of the tracts of Christina
Renter's real estate was Bold on Sat
urday. The highest bid on the
house and lot was $1180. A relic
of 1802 was disclosed in the form
of a ground rent subject to which
the land was sold when the town
was laid out
On Tuesday afternoon we recieved
a private message from Medical
Chirurgical College, Philadelphia,
that Allen A. Yodor of Globe Mills,
this county, had graduated from that
institution with highest honors; this
is certainly good news and we , are
glad to hear that our young friend
has been so successful in his
researches for medical ability and
surgical skill.
Horace Alleman, Esq., of Selins
grove has presented to the Snyder

he Snyder county Sunday school
association convened in the Lutheran
church of this place on Monday
evening. The address of welcome
was 'delivered by Rev. S. B. Bough'
ter. the nastor of the U. B. church
of this place, the response on behalf
ot the association was delivered . by
Rev; G.'D. Druckeumiller of Free-
burg, Mrs. Barnes, a prominent
Sunday school worker of the state,
war introduced, who gave a very
enligntencd talk on practical Sun
day school work. The services
were presided over by Prof. Wm.
Moyer of Freeburg and Rev. S. S.
Kohler of New Berlin invoked the
divine blessings upon this conven
tion

Death has again visited our vil
lage and claimed for its victim Mrs.

Mother Aigler was in her usual
health and going aUiut her work on
Saturday morning, some time in the
forenoon she got a basin of water
and went to her room. At noon her
daughter, Mrs. Frank Beaver, with
whom she had her home, called her
to come to dinner, but did. not get
a reply, whereupon she entered her
room where she found her sitting on
her rocking chair dead. The de
ceased was a consistent member of
the Lutheran church, her maiden
name was Eisenhower. The funeral
took place on Tuesday, her age was
71 years, 4 mo. and 10 days
W. H. Coleman and wife visited
their son at Jerseytown recently. . . .
Charles hi. b reed who. had gone to
Elkhart, Ind., about six weeks ago
has again returned to his home. . . .
Jefferson Kern has rased one of the
old houses on the old Beaver farm
East of town to the ground and has
the rough wall completed for a new

Obituary of Phillip Spaid.
As announced in last week's Post
Philip Spaid died May 4, ISDN.
He was liorn Oct 4 ISoo, hence
aged 0 1 years and 7 months. He
was married August l.", ISoS to
Catherine Smith to w hom were born
2 sons and 5 daughters as detailed
in last week's Post. All of them
survive with 1 3 grandchildren. I le-
was converted 1 1 years ago and
became a member of the United
Brethren Church of this place in
which he remained faithful to life's
close. The funreal took place on
Saturday at which Revs. Romig cf
Riehneld and Boughter of this place
officiated.
The K. L. C. E. of Witmer's U-
nited Evangelical Church will hold

township on Ascension day. Refresh
