( )n Thursday f lust week tlie .iiipmt'iit of tho Post printiiHr es talilMiint'iit was nutvitl from the oM lo-ation in David Oeker's building to the new PT Printing House on tlie Ilank lot near the county jail. This printing ofliee was loeatctl in the Imikling from whieh it was re ihovihI since ulMiut Oitolter 1S74 or a H-riotl of 23 J years. The MiuMle Itnrgh 1st was established alxiut tlie holidays of 1S2 C3 by Isiael (iiitelius at Selinsgrove. It was run hv its founder until ome time dur ing the latter jxirt of lSIMi. The lt sT was not printed for several weeks then and altoiit New Year 1SG7 it was jiiirehaseil by Hon. .leremiah Crotise wlio moved it from Selinsgrove to Middlelturg nnd l(e iran issue in the first or second week in January 1807. The Tost was printed for a while in first and second storv of John Arnold's build- inr located where J. C. Sclutch's residence now is. The second story of the building was only a half story. I-rfiter it was moved to a building then erected .in the vicinity of the present sites ofJaeob(iilbcrt's and D. A. Kern's residences. In this same building there was a fur niture store conducted by Charles K.tthcrnian of MiHHnburg. The ItsT was on the lower story. Feb. 7th, 1ST!, this building was de stroyed by fire; but the printing plant had Urn moved out several years ld'fre the fire. Mr. Crouse owiied the l'osr and conducted it through all his successful political life when in DccciiiIht lfSS'2 it was sold to Thomas H. Harter. We are now located at a more prominent place in town (near the walls of the jail) with a two-story edifice. This building affords us a ejiarate room on the first Hoor for private, business and editorial pur poses; another room for presses and lolder and still another room for the engine. The second story is used by ooiujtositors. We were assisted in moving by Wm. C. Snyder; Harry Sjieclit, Frank D. Keigle, Cliarles and Ed. Corkins. D. A. Kern, whose skill is the pynonyni of genius, had eliarge of the lanre cvlinder press. He took it all ajiart and put it together again. 'He also put in place the shaft, folder, and engine in which lie was ably assisted br II. E. 'alUr. The contract for the erection of the building was given tolicnneville SiuitJi, and W. Y. The painting was done at the direction of A. J. Urossgrove by Howard Foulk, James Crossgrove and II. S, llcnninger. The doors, windows and Irames were made by A. W. Engel of ;Vavertown. Thus the eri'ction of this building brought work to great many different persons. The work was all well and carefully done. Last but not least, there k'longs to the directors of the First National Ilank of Middleburg the credit of endeavoring to make everything satisfactory. Th-y are a progres sive set of gentlemen whose wide awake business methods have buijt up for the ldink a stuitcndous busi ness to which they are justly entitled. lly reason of all these things we are enabled to occupy a more com modious building and a more pro minent site tor the purposes of the Pits-r nnd its many jiatrons. The Post is a leader. This is now the first and only building in this sec tion of the state that is used exclu sively as n printing ofliee. More than 3" years have already rolled by during which the Post lias everywhere lccn recognized as a re liable and powerful organ. In a few months' time we luie to Ik; able to give a more completehis tory of the Post together with a history of the town audits business interests. CENTBEVILLE.
