BEAVERTOWN.
On Wednesday forenoon quite an
excitement was occasioned by a run
away team belonging to Jacob Ker
hood and A. A. Romig dashing into
local freight east just aa it was on
the poiut of leaving Beavertown
station. The team was somewhat
spirited and while holding them in
as they approached the K. R. cross
ing w hich at the time was closed by
the train the lines broke and the
horse belonging to Mr. Romig dash
ed right in between two cars and
striking against the bumpers of the
rare, was quite seriously injured but
will recover. The men seeing the
dauger jumped from the vehicle be
fore it struck and no one was injur
ed... Elmer Bouch who is working
at Troy. N. Y. spent a few days with
his parents at this place. . .Edward

their daughter at Lewistown ...

dissenting vote Wednesday. The
measure authorizes county commis
sioners to rebuild bridges on sites
owned by corporations over streams
or rivers forming the boundary line
between two counties, where the

flood or otherwise at any time which
kave been or may be abandoned bv
the owners and rebuilt on another
ite. and which were previously used
telusively for vehicles and fcot
purposes and providing for tbe cost
of their construction.

the S. S. Association will meet in
the M. E. church, at Shamokin Dam
on May 10th, 11th aud 12th. An in
teresting program has been prepar
ed. At least two of tbe State Work
ers will be present during tbe con
vention. Each school of the county
should send at least two delegates.
All superintendents aud miuisters
should be preseut aud take an active
part. Let us work and pruy bo that
this may be the most beneficial con
vention ever held in Snyder county.

mittee of Arrangement?, of their
coming. I will call on the Superin
tendents for their reports the latter
