onus) remember Mr. Samuel Faust.
Ho lived for a loug time, at Selius
grove and traveled over Snyder
county selling sewing machines.
Somo years ago ho settled in Scran
ton whero ho engaged iu tailoring.
The writer spent many an hour iu
his tailor shop hero in this city. He
wus u genuine Pcnnsylvuniau and
alsontruo Suydor Couutiuu which
made our conversations doubly in
teresting. We talked frequently
about Snyder county.
A few mornings ago he was unable
to como to his shop because of u so
vero cold, and only a few days later
ho died. No doubt thero are many
to whom this is sad news and it will
bring up perchance, pleasant mem
ories now clothed iu gloom. But
such is tho way of life.

sociation at its next meeting will

appointed to draft a now libel law.

prevent criminal prosecutions whero

There is not a feature of the
proposed measure that does not
hold criminal libel-that is libel pub
lishod maliciously to tho injury of
others to the strictest accountabili
ty, or that does not hold that any
newspaper, whether by accident or

damag.i thus inflicted. The new bill
offers no protection to licentious
journalism, and affords the grout ust
