Paul Billhurdt of this place has been
engaged as pianist for the noted
singer.
Children's Day Exercises were
held in both the Reformed and
Lutheran Churches. Beautiful dis
plays of llowers decorated the
churches in rich profusion. The
money collected was devoted to
Christian advancement.
The Government will not print any
more envelopes for firms and indi
viduals after the present contracts
expire, and by a recent ruling all un
called for letters will be held thirty
days unless return directions nam
ing a shorter time are given on the
envelope. Always use printed enve
lopes, which you can get at cheapest

publican convention.
Misses Maud and Mabel Keller,
of Wcllohly, Miss., sailed a few
days ago with n party of friends for
Europe. While abroad they will
visit England, Italy, Francv, Our
mauy, Switzerland. Tho party will
be chaperoned by Prof, and Mrs.
Denio, of Willosly College. Tho
Misses Keller are well known in Se
linsgrove and Middluburgh, both
having graduated from Susquehanna
University.
A bridal couple got on Day Ex
press ut Williamsport last week.
Their friends saw them oil' with the
usual shower of rico and lucky old
shoes. Tho bride and groom had
souts in tho parlor car. Just after
the train left Williumsport the
groom found that he had forgotten
his pocket book. All his money for
the wedding trip was in it. Love is
all right in its way, but lovers have
to eat, so the bride and groom got
off of Day Express at Muncy and
took the Niagara Express for Wil
liamsport again.
The Harrisburg Patriot's prize
contest has closod with the follow
ing as winners: Miss Clara Lavina
Lynch, of Harrisburg, with a vote
of 58,085 out of a total of 171,318
wins the State Normal prize scholar

Harrisburg, with 47,375 wins the

Hon. Samuel H. Yotler

Smith. Mr. Yoder then built a stoie

the mercantile business for 22 years
lie then bought David Meiser's mill
aud later built a threo story brick
mill which wus the first complote
Roller mill in the County. His suc
cess iu both the mercantile und tl.fl
milling business was very flattering,
The high estimate in which he was
held by his fellow men was proven
by his election to the ollice of As
hociate Judgu of this county and
serving as Nice l'rsident of tie
First Nat. Bank of .Middleburgh at
the time of his death. His matri
monial union was blessed with 3
bo.vs and four girls. The family
was never troubled much with sick
ness until the estimable wife of his
son, Grant, was called away to her
eternal home on account of typhoid
fever just four weeks before the
death of Mr. Yoder. This makes
tho death of Ex-Judge Yoder a
double iitltiction to tho bereaved
family. Mrs. Yoder too is sick with
typhoid fever.
Tho funeral was e inducted by
Lafayette Lodge of Free Masons at
thegiiive, and was attended by a
large host of relatives aud friends.

might have averted an untimely

McLain and NelV. She was a daugh
ter of Mr. ami Mrs. John Mensch of
Milllinburg and ut the time of her

has represented the people's inter
ests ami ho deserves at the hands
of the people of this county the
unanimous re-election to the position

Co., Pa. She had been married but
a short time when she moved to

dead ut the home of her daughter.
Mary, at Pardee, Union county, Pa.
She was laid to rest iu the Middle
burgh, cemetery Friday June 7th.
She leaves n sons and 2 daughters to
mourn her loss.
