Strawser failed to pay tho damages and costs in a breach of promise case tried in the courts of this county in 1S91 brought by M. Louisa Shetterly. The debt with interest is $11 1.U7. Tho case is mi unusual one, and will interest lawyers and jurists. It is not often that a man is sent to jail for debt in these days of free dom. . Under the common law, brought over from England by the colonists, ' imprisonment fur debt was an" -ordinary occurrence.
