And now we write 1891. Tho mild
weather we have had so far is not
very favorable. More snow is anx
iously looked for. Tho doctors are
kept on tho go. Nearly everybody
has the "grip". . . .On Saturday even
ing, between 9 and 10 o'clock, tho
stable of J. W. Keister of this pluce
was destroyed by fire, together with
the pig-stable adjoining. The fire
spread so rapidly that nothing was
saved but the cow aud two shoats.
The cause of the firo is not known
but is supposed to bo the work of
an incendiary. . . .Mrs. Sadie Dreese,
of Beaver Springs, visited parents
and friends here lust week. .Messrs.
William aud Jucob Sampsel, both of
the State of Michigan, are here vis
iting their aged futher and relatives
at this writing. .. .Mr. Winey Cus
ter, of Swineford, was in town to
Bee his lady friend, Saturday even
ing. . . .Mrs. Alice liobland and Miss
Mabel Marshall, both of Shenan
