County Superintt nieiit of the public
schools. It will, doubtless, be the
aim of every director to select the
person who ht believes to be best
qualified f . i- the ollh'e, both in point
of sehol .tr-hip, und in practical ex
perience in the Art of Teaching. A
good, successful teacher will make
u good, successful .Superintendent ;

learning, and well established sue
cess cannot make a good Superin
tendent. This is true in every depart
ment of life, and it applies in all its
fort to the office, question.

gressive, keeping fully abreast of the
times in all school work. He pos
sesses the happy faculty of inspir
ins pupil of nil ages and grades
with a love of study, and with pride
and emulation in their work. He
is a pclf-mado man, in the strictest
senro of tho term, and possesses
every pood quality for a good super
intendent. Ho has fully prepared
himself for teaching as a profession,
ami expects to make it a lifo work.
In his powers of analysis and ex
planation, ho is surpassed by no
ono ; making the most difTiirult pro
blems, plain to tho comprehension
of his pupils. He will at all times
do all in his jovcr to elevate the

during the delivery of his sermon
John A. Fetterolf has commenced
to make the alterations in the as
sessments, and is getting hjs full
sharo of what he does not relish. . . .
To-day, "Trapper Jim" sent part of
a car-load of fur to New York City,
