A LAY SERMON.
Spring-timo nlill (frown Awer-ter
Summer still goon flcotor
Winter itill grown colder
As we, alas ! grow older.
Friendship Mill grown fnircr
l'liiytiine Htill grows rarer
Childhood's ways prow dearer
A" lnt hours still draw nearer.
If we resume our Maying
Our loving and our playing
Upon the unknown shore
When this poor life is o'er,
How sweet will bo our Maying
Our loving and our playing.
For there, are children ever,
And there is winter never.
There, Friendship will be surer
There, Love be sweeter, purer
Tin re. is no bitter crying
And Th re, no thoughts of dying.
Then 1 't us ph-aso our Savior
With good and sweet behavior,
S. we at last upon that shore
Mav play and Jsove foreverinore.
