An Interesting case was trleil over
In Union couuty recently before
Judge Jiuclier. W. !N. Maker v as
tried under the Sunday law of 171'i,
for selling cigars on Sunday. ii
claimed that ns he was an Innkeeper
he had a right to sill cigars on Sun
day. Tho Justice of the Peace before
whom tho case was tried decided that
Hiikcr had a right to sell to the guests
of his house but not to other persons,
Judge Huclier did not tako this view
of tho caso bat decided that under
tho law of 1704 no one had a right to
ull cigars on Sunday no matter
whwther he was an iunkeeper or not
and no mutter whether the person
buying them was u guest of the house
or not
Every young man who earns wages
ought to buy a lot and make a start
for a home. The way to get u start
Is to svo a little money each month
and make a payment ou your pur
chase, and so, little by little, pay for
your lot and build your house. Don't
spend all your money on livery turn
outs and dunces and ico cream to
please your best girl. After a while
you will need a homo for that best
gin ana I tie youngsters that some
way or other generally come around
and want to "put up" with you. Put
a little of your spared cukh into the
ground as you go along, and after
many days It will bring you a roy
alty. William Youngman of Heavortown,
and J. Irvin Howell, of McClure, who
purchased J. W. Snook's stock of
merchandise at Millhelm, Pa., will
take charge of the stend next week
Mr. Youngman has had seven years
experience in the mercantile bu
siness, aud Mr. Howell is a school
teacher, and is acknowledged one of
the most thorough and successful in
structors in the count'. Uotli are still
young men, of quiet habits, honest,
sober, industrious, and as substantial
as tho hills among which they were
raised. Our Centre couuty friends
will find then perfect gentlemen aud
reliable business men and we ask for
them a hearty welcome In their midst.
