thousands of chimney swifts to
be seen circling over McConnells
burg. Last week there were
practically none. Where did
they go? Surely all were not
smothered in the Reformed
church chimney on Sunday morn
ing of last week.

fire company, the first of its kind

Recently, James Kend 11 and
the Patterson Bros., of Ayr town
ship, sent a herd of sixteen fine
fat cattle to Greencastle. On
Monday, Levi Keefer, of the
same towrfship, sent a similar
herd to Broad top.
Poultrymen associations of this
state are giving away 25,000 eggs
from pure bred stock to those
who will agree to hatch them
and care for the chicks. This is
the poultry men's "bit" toward
increasing the supply of food.

bersburg, will address the Mc
Connellsburg High School grad
uating class on May 31st.
