E Bair and little son Max recently accompanied Mrs. , Thomas Vittitone, of Burlington, Colorado, on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Boobs, at Beaver town, Pa., and to Mr. and Mrs. J. Vernon Skipper at Tyrone. Mrs. Vittitone expects to return to Colorado after Christmas. Owing to the inclemency of the weather there was no preachmg services at the Asbury M. E. church last Sabbath. John W. Stewart, of Carlisle, is visiting the J. A. Stewart fam ily at Green Ilill, and his cousins the John W. Gibson family at Wells Tannery. Manager E. II. Kirk has put a force of men to remove the old bridge and all abutments thereof, at Manns, and has provided aeon venient crossing over the stream at that place. The bases of the bridge under construction near Green Hill are completed and ready for the forms. The Lin coln Highway, while moving slow ly, will eventually be completed. Dr. Campbell and family spent a couple of days in the County Seat recently. W. II. Shaw was at the County Seat Saturday on business. Miss Olive and sister Marie Shaw have returned home after spending institute week with their grandfather at Bustontown. J. L. Grissmger made a trip1 to the County Seat recently. Birthday surprise supper last Friday evening quite a number of friends gathered at the borne of Mr. FrankTljomas to celebrate his 36th birthday. At 7 o'clock the dining room door was thrown open and the friends invited to supper just one glimpse at the table and all knew that was not the first time Mrs. Thomas had been there. Those that were present were: Mr. and Mrs Ja cob Crider, Mr. and Mrs. Mc Kenzie Houck, Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. John Galbraith, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Alloway and daughter Alice; Mrs Frank Mills, Mrs Catherine Al loway, Mrs. Dan Alloway and daughter Marion; Mrs. William Shaw and daughter Delia; Mrs. A. D. Keith and two daughters Mary and Edith; Mrs. N. G. Cunningham, Grandma Cunning ham, Miss Ethel Thomas, and Miss Olive and Cioyd Blacu.
