Because Marion looks and
reads too much like "Merion,"a
town near Philadelphia, the post
office department at Washington
is anxious to change the name
and has written the Marion,
Franklin county, postoffiee about
it. The citizens of that place du
not favor the change and are pro

Figures compiled from reports
of Fourth of July celebrations all
over tho United States show that
tho movement for a safe observ
ance of the day resulted in the
smallest number of casualties ev
er recorded. Statisticiaas at Chi
cago announce that L'4 persons
were killed and 881 injured, com
pared with 181 and 2,721 in 1910
' and -1(5(5 and 3,08; in 1903. In
Boston there was not a single
casualty nor injury as a result of
the celebration, which was of a
patriotic and inspiring nature, al
though safe and practically noise
less.

Must Pay for Paper.
Taking a paper out of the post
oftfee makes the recipient liable
for the bill. 0. D. Austin, a Mis
souri publisher, sont his paper to
Charles Burge. The latter paid
for it twice and then refused to
pay again. He said he ordered it
stopped. But the court of ap
peals holds that the mere accept
ance of the paper created a liabil
ity. It adds: "the preparation
and publication of a newspaper
involves much mental and physi
cal labor as well as an outlay of
mojey. One who accepts the pa
per by continuously taking it
from the post ollice received a
benefit and pleasure arising from
such labor and expenditure as
fully as if he had appropriated
any other product of another's la
bor, and by such act he must be
held liable for the subscription

Kill More Than Wild Beasts.
Tho number of jetple killed
yearly by wild beasts don't ap
proach the vast number killed by
disease germs. No life is safe
from their attacks. They're in
air, water, dust, even food. But
grand protection is afforded by
Electric Bitters, which destroy
and expel these deadly diseaso
germs from the system. That's
why chills, fever and ague, all
malaria and many blood dis
eases yield promptly to this won
dorful blood purifier. Try them,
and enjoy the glorious health and
new strength they'll give you.
Money back, if not satisfied.
