year Secretary Knox will receive
salary of $12,000, the same
amount paid to the other Cabinet
officers. The Secretary was
estopped from receiving more
than $8,000 because the compen
sation ot Cabinet officers was in
creased by Congress to $12,000
per annum during the term for
which he was elected to the
United States Senate.
