After a week's absence, Mr,
and Mrs. Levi Skiles and their
son Wallace passed through town
Monday on their way to their
home on Tleasant Ridge. Having
sold their farm on Pleasant Ridge
to Mr. W. J. Truax in August,
Mr. and Mrs. Skilos went over to
Franklin county, and after look
ing arouna, rentea tne uauey

to Fort Loudon. They will move
to their new home the first of

The quicker a cold is gotten rid
of the less tbe danger from
pneumonia and other serious dis
eases. Mr. B. W. L. Hall, of
Waverly, Va., says: "I firmly be
lieve Chamberlain's Cough Rem
edy to be absolutely the best pre
paration on tho market for colds.
I have recommended it to my
friends and they all agree with
me." For sale bv all dealers.
The family of William II. WTood
al, tenant farmer on tho Jared
Pittman farm south of town, have
been distressingly afflicted du
ring the last three months. The
home became infected with ty
pboid fover, and nearly all the
members of the family passed
through it. That Mr. Woodal
became convalescent was a sur
prise to his friends; for it did not
seem possible at one stago of the
progress of tho disease that he
could pet well. He however, came
through it, and became, as ho
thought, strong euough to come
to town ouo fine day. It was in
this he was mistaken, for ho very
soon thereafter had to go to bed,
and has been very poorly since.
While the family has the sympa
thy and assistance of a large
number of friends, all of which
the family very much appreci
ates, yet on last Thursday even
ing, some miserable scoundrel
who does not foar getting typhoid
fever himself, went to Mr. Wood
al's hogpen during tho night and
stole two fine Berkshire pigs that
would weigh at least twouty-tivo
pounds. We refrain from mak
ing any common ts on such con
duct for fear we might hurt the
hog-thief's feelings.

The B. M. Hyde Co. Offer a Remedy
fur Catarrh. The Medicine
Costs Nothing If It Fails.
When a medicine effects a sue
cessf ul treatment in a very large
majority of cases, and when we
offer that medicine on our own
personal guarantee that it will
cost the user nothing if it does
not completely relievo catarrh, it
is only reasonable that people
should believe us. or at least put
our claim to a practical test when
we take all the risk. These are
facts which we -want the people
to substantiate. We want them
to try Rexall Mucu-Tone, a
medicine prepared from a pre
scription of a physician with
whom catarrh was a specialty,
and who has a record of thirty
years of enviable success to his
record.
We receive more good reports
about Rexall Mucu-Tone than we
do ot all other catarrh remedies
sold in our store, and if more
people only knew what a
thoroughly dependable remedy
Rexall. Mucu-Tone is, it would be
the only catarrh remedy we
would have any demand for.
Rexell Mucu-Tone is quickly
absorbed and by its therapeutic
effect tends to disinfect and
cleanse the entire mucous mem
braneous tract, to destroy and
remove tbe parasites which in
jure the membraneous tissues, to
scothe the irritation and heal the
soreness, stop the mucous dis
charge, build up strong, healthy
tissue and relieve the blood and
system ot diseased matter. Its
influence is toward stimulating
the mucc-cells, aiding digestion
and improving nutrition until the
whole body vibrates with healthy
activity. In a comparatively
short time it brings about a
noticeable gain in weight,
strength, good color and feeling
of buoyancy.
We urge you to try Rexall
Mucu-Tone, beginning a treat
ment to-day. At anv time you
are not satisfied, simply come
and tell us, and we will quickly
return your money without ques
tion or quibble. We have Rexall
Mucu-Tone in two sizes, 50 cents
and $1.00.- Remember you can
obtain Rexall Remedies in Mc
Connellsburg only at our store,

Thus far our nimrods report
very few venison roasts. But
many are the tales of "what we
saw." llarry Keller says "he

David Woodcock and Clarence
Smith spent Sunday with rela

Rev. and Mrs. McGarvey were
most agreeably surprised on
Wednesday the 24th whan How
ard Kirk and Harvey Clevenger
drove up and requested the priv

tbe-house. After leading the table
down with good thi gs and re
plenishing the potato and apple
bins and Howard had given the
parson a nice sum in cash they
announced mat "tnis was a
Thanksgiving offering from Fair

is expressed through these lines
to these most generous and thank
ful people by their pastor and
family.

Many porkers have gone down
in this vicinity, though pork still
remains high.
Some say there is a live spook
in town. Orville Taylor developed

he brought a generous offering

generous folks and to them for
obeying the impulse.
