General Democratic Landslide All Over
The Country Except iu Fulton
Count)1.
By reference to the table pub
lished elsewhere, a result of the
vote in the county will be seen,
and it will be noted that Tener
the Republican candidate) for gov
ernor, carried the county by a
plurality of 70 votes over Grim.
For the legislature, Clarence E.
Akers, Republican, of Brush
Creek, defeated his opponent, ex-
County Superintendent Clem
Chestnut, by a majority of 87.
In the State, John K. Tener,
the Republican candidate for gov
ernor, was electad by a plurality
of less than 20,000, over his clos
est competitor, W. II. Berry.
The Democrats won all over the
United States where a fight, of
any consequence was on and they
will surely dominate the next
Congress.
Democratic governors were
elected in New York, Ohio, New
Jersey, Connecticut, Massachu
setts, and many other States for
merly strongholds of the republi
can party.
This is accounted for to a great
extent by the general un
rest of the people during the past
year, and to the unprecedently
high cost of living.
Such landslides have occurred
before in the history of the coun
try, and like electric storms,

In a letter containing a renewal
of her subscription to the Fulton
County News, Mrs. Joel T. Pal
mer of Hutchinson, Kansas,
whose maiden came was Miss
Rachel Wallace, many nice things
were said about the Fulton Coun
ty News and the pleasure it af
forded western people who for
merly lived in this section of
Pennsylvania by taking to them
weekly so many things to keep
fresh in memory those who were
near by the ties of friendship in
bygone years. Her youngest
son Clayton, who will be remem
bered as having visited here with
his parents ten years ago, has
just entered a dental college at
Kansas City, Mo, to take a
thorough course of instruction In
that very useful profession; and,
to show that Hutchinson it not
in a state of dormancy, entirely,
alio say a their town has just com
pteted a $150,000.00 school build
ing, McConnellsburi' has a
school house that visitors are
taken around to see with a good
deal of local pride, but it only
cost about one fifteenth as much,
as the lluchinson buildiner.

was hatched on the 18th day of
last March, and when she was
four months and one day old, she
began to lay and kept at it until
she bad fifteen eggs. She then
thought it time to go to setting,
and on the 28th of August came
out with a brood of nice little
peeps. After giving them ma

October, she began laying again,
and if she is the sensible hen we
thinks she is, she will keep laying
all wintor, or as long as egt's are

and her sister, Mrs. J. M Leh

Washington House lastThursday
night. The three sisters and
brother, accompanied by the
grandson, were making a journey
over to the place of their nativity,
near Shlmpstown, Franklin coun
ty. For it was from that plice
that their parents had moved
more than sixty years ago, they
coming to Fulton and settling on
the old Samuel King farm in the
neighborhood of Laidig. They
have a lot of relatives and friends
over in Franklin county, and their
visit under the circumstances,'
will be a very erfjoyable one.
While the brother, Mr. W. H.
Walters spent three years in the
Civil War, and participated in
some of the most wicked of the

be good for more service if Uncle
Samuel needs help.

The Perfection Oil Heater quickly

indicator always shows the amount of oil in the font. The filler

heater has a cool handle and a damper top.
The Perfection Oil Heater has an automatic-locking
flame spreader which prevents the wick from being turned
high enough to smoke, and is easy to remgve and drop back, so
the wick can be quickly cleaned. The burner body or gallery
cannot become wedged and can be unscrewed in an Instant for
