At a child's birthday p irly last
week, the lemonade was served
in lemou shells which had bMD
made to resemble pigs. A slice
Ml cut from one side of each
lemon and the juice aud the pulp
removed. The pointed end was
Ins nose, with cloves for eyes.
Matches were used for feet and
tail. The slice at the top of the
back was returned after the shells
were tilled. Straws wore Used.

Geo. Sipes has moved to his
homo near Dickey's Mountain.
Mrs. Elizabeth Hess is spend
ing a few days with her son, Sam
uel Hess.
Mrs. Lemuel Gordon spent
Sunday with her parents, B. R.
Simpson aud wife.
The mumps are on the decrease
in Thompson.
Claude H. Pittman spent Sun
day with his cousin, C. V. John
son. Geo. V. Mellon, of Franklin
county, was in Thompson recent
ly. J. F. Hess and family expect to
remove to Washington, Fa., in
