Ttw auction at Stevens and Ra ker's was fairly well attended last Saturday afternoon a id even id. The protracted meeting is still in progress, and there have been quite a number of conversions. Jacob Brown, the mail carrier, lost a valuable horse last week on the route between Maddensville and Clear Kulge. Prank Mo.t and H. Stevens of V'aynesboro, have returned home after spending a few days with their parents, J. S. Mort and J. B. Stevens. Listen for wedding beds soon. Miss Bessie Fields of Fort Lit tleton and a couple of gentlemen from Laid ig, were very pleas int callers at A. W. Brown's last Sat urday evening. Mrs. Henry Huston and Mrs. Bert Sipes of Huston town, at tended the auction at this place hist Saturday. Miss Nellie Morton of McK'ib bin.was the guest of Miss Myrtle Sieveni the past week. Mrs. Harry Ramsey and Mrs. H. J. Grove are on the sick list. B. S. Fleming and J. Brown went to Waynesboro to seek em ployment. Miss Annie Winegardner is slowly improvijg. Lloyd and David Kleming spent a day last week the guests of their brothers, Robert and Roy in McConnellsburg. Misses Elsie Baker, Jessie Hen ry and Maud Fields, spent Sun day at their homes in this place. Miss Lura Bolinger spent last Saturday and Sunday the guest of Miss Lizzie Henry :also, Gilbert Bowman of Burnt Cabins, was a pleasant caller last Saturday evening. Misses May me Snyder and Ni na Kelso spent Saturday and Sunday at this place. John Carmack purchased a hne horse and buggy one day last week. Mrs. Mintie Miller spent a day last week at A. W. Brown's. Mrs. JoQn Raker of Knobsville, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Cha.'les Stevens in this place. Mrs. George Taylor is ill. Fred Bowman spent Saturday and Sunday at his home at Burnt Cabins. James Appleby, of Decorum, made a Hyiug trip to this place one day last week. Mrs. Thomas Cromwell spent part of last week in the home of Mrs. M. A. Fields. Moving time is near at hand. Daniel Curfman of Huntingdon county, was m our town last Sat urday. Joseph D.
